BetaSpace :: New Media Art
|
FAQ How does work get chosen for galleries? Currently digital art work is chosen based upon the discretion of the BetaSpace creators, and the nominations of the general public. Can I be involved in BetaSpace? Yes. You can either nominate an artwork to be featured, or contribute to our resource links page. Where is the first version of BetaSpace? For archival purposes, a screen shot of version 1 of BetaSpace can still be viewed at http://www.betaspace.org/v1. What happened to the communities? While the communities were a core part of the original concept of the BetaSpace project, the evolution and interest of the project has moved us more in the direction of nominating and displaying noteworthy new media artwork, instead of the previous emphasis on collaborative artwork and information exchange. What's with your logo? The subject of much controversy, the BetaSpace logo is based upon an updated version of Marcel Duchamp's Fountain (the infamous 1917 urinal), keeping his same intent that 'art is what the artist says it is' (in our case, defining new media art as a legitimate 'art' form). In the Dadaist spirit, it is open to interpretation. Where can I find in-depth info about BetaSpace? For more information on the conception and evolution of the project, you may view the original project documentaiton online at http://www.betaspace.org/documentation. I want to know more, who can I contact? You may contact the BetaSpace team at |
